Alien Workshop turned Grant Taylor pro a few months back, and for damn good reason. Check out his part in the Nike Video Debacle. I'm going to go ahead and claim that this kid is the next big thing. What do you think?

This isn't really news, unless you don't know that John Cardiel is the greatest skateboarder of all time. Watch and learn children.
One rainy evening I decided to call up my lifetime skate homey and inform him that I was on my way over with a six pack and the new Creature DVD, Hesh Law. He said his chick would fry up some chicken, and a mandatory man-date was set. I got to his house and peeled the plastic off of the DVD, and the first thing that I noticed was the sick packaging. The case looks like a book and sandwiched between the two (yes two) DVD's were several pages of photos from the Creature team. I hadn't even cracked my first cold one and I was already impressed. The skating in the movie is top notch, with the likes of Truman Hooker, Devin Appelo, and David Gravette getting down to business. However, my favorite parts of the movie were definitely the Japan segment and the footage from the Ramona vert ramp. Japan is full of insane spots, and Partanen and Maru's skating in the forgotten skate park is simply gnarly. The vert ramp footage will blow your mind too. If you are used to watching vert at the X-games then you are in for a pleasant suprise. The Ramona section is raw as fuck, with Partanen, Hewitt, Hitz, Gravette, Navarette, and many others absolutely shredding. I'll leave you with this, Hewitt Frontside Invert over the channel, with Navarette airing over (and nearly clipping) him. The gnar factor in this film is off the charts. One six pack and run to the store later, it was time to pop in the disc number 2. The second disc includes Al Partanen's part, which is great, but I don't understand why it wasn't in the actual movie. It also has Sam Hitz's "Tales of the Larb", you'll have to watch it, but it pretty much involves a beer swilling earthworm, who kinda looks like Neil Heddings, getting into adventures. Finally, there is Creature's feature film "Blood Shed." It involves the Creature team smoking some funny green substance, going to this pool, and getting eaten by Zombie Blood-Sluts. "Blood Shed" kinda made me wanna have a stroke watching it, but it was definitely less corny and more believable than "Lordz of Dogtown."
Over all I would have to give Hesh Law the randomly generated score of 665. It falls short in the music departement. For example, Devin Appelo skates to emergency sirens and alarms, and even though his skating was sick, I wanted to fast forward. Still, everyone who likes skateboarding needs to go pick up this DVD. It is full of handrails, vert ramps, back yard pools, and forgotten skate parks, in other words, something for everybody. Shout out to my buddy EJ with a couple of cameos!
Pick up a copy of Hesh Law to watch at your friend's house. Chicken and beer not included.
