Plan B
Plan B was shelved in the mid 90s… until now. Danny Way and Colin McKay, in connection with Syndrome Distribution, have reintroduced the former chief boss in skating, which was founded in 1991 by Mike Ternasky. Plan B is remembered for their killer videos they produced including Questionable, Virtual Reality, and Second Hand Smoke. Tragically, Mike passed away in an automobile accident in 1997, and McKay and Way took over the brand and also put it to rest for awhile to focus on their skating. Recently, the two guys decided to bring it back. Way and McKay, along with three of the hottest riders today, PJ Ladd, Paul Rodriquez, and Ryan Gallant, make one of the most talented teams out there today. “This generation of kids has never seen it go down like this before where people leave their respective teams to do something new and fresh,” says McKay. He also claims that none of the guys joined the team for cash: “Some people think that we threw money at these guys, but that’s not the case. All the guys were already committed before money was even in question.” Syndrome Distribution will be in charge of manufacturing, production, sales, and distribution for the brand. “Plan B was one of the companies that changed skateboarding,” says Rob Mertz, president of Syndrome. “There aren't too many companies that can claim that. In 2005, Plan B will change skateboarding again”.
